A Bit About Me

I am a recent college graduate with a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Furman University located in Greenville, SC. For the past three months, I worked as a financial analyst at a commercial bank and realized that my passion for writing had turned from a hobby to a career that I wanted to pursue. So, here I am! I am relatively new to the copywriting industry; however, I am a highly motivated self-starter who seeks to sharpen my skills any way I can so that I can become an adept storyteller across all industries.

Now that the introductory aspect is out of the way, I would like to touch on my history with creative, academic, and blog writing. Starting in middle school, I started my journey as a fantasy novelist with several works published on the writing platform, Wattpad. During the midst of my creative writing, I also gained invaluable skills from academic settings from high school AP English Language & Literature to collegiate writing in business courses and to manual/procedure writing in my position as a financial analyst.

Up next are some fun facts about me to get a closer look at my personality & interests: Firstly, I am a very outgoing, people-oriented person who loves to share stories whether that be from personal experience or creative writing. Secondly, during middle school, I created and managed a food-based Instagram account that reached almost 100k followers! Thirdly, I have traveled to over 17 different countries in the span of my lifetime. And lastly, I learned how to understand the Japanese language by watching anime.

June 2020 - August 2020

October 2022 - December 2022

September 2022 - November 2022

November 2022 - May 2023

During the Fall of 2022, I worked as a Copywriter Intern for Appvertiser, a mobile-marketing company. During this internship, I contributed blog posts, marketing guides, EDU course content, and Q&A interview articles following the company's formatting and style specifications and publishing them to the main website. I communicated with the company's creative team to request assets for the articles for various media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Appvertiser's Blog. I interviewed manager-level employees at Appvertiser and social media influencers that work with the company.

During the Winter of 2022 and Spring of 2023, I worked as a Creative Writing Intern for VoyceMe, a story-sharing platform covering manga, manhwa, web novels, and webcomics within the ACG industry. I worked with fellow interns on a 2-week cycle production timeline to launch web series. This process entailed reviewing pitch submissions, web novels, and novel-to-manga adaptations; creating character descriptions, plot points, and prologue panels; and writing pilot copy for the first five episodes of a webcomic series.

During the Fall of 2022, I worked as an Anime Features Writer for GameRant.com. During this time, I pitched, researched, and contributed 25 articles per month covering a range of writing styles (e.g. features, reviews, and news) and word counts from 600 words to 1,500 words. I worked under tight deadlines submitting at least 5 articles per week and implementing revisions from the Anime Lead Editor. I followed formatting guidelines, including backlinking, SEO/SMO content writing, and Pixlr photo editing.

During the Summer of 2022, I worked as a financial analyst at a commercial bank. During this time, as a supplementary project, I updated and created several technical manuals/procedures as well as worked extensively with Excel spreadsheets designing task lists for daily, weekly, and monthly use for the position. Likewise, I gained a general understanding of accounting, banking, and financial standards and policies. I also served as the first reviewer of a fixed-term service contract and familiarized myself with the unique language used in contract writing.

During the Summer of 2020, I worked as an admissions intern for the Furman University Office of Admissions. During this time, I honed my interpersonal and professional communication and written skills. Here are some of the major activities that I participated in: Wrote several blog posts for the Furman University blog website; Performed at least four digital virtual tours weekly for up to ten prospective students and their families; Acted as the first point of contact for prospective international students regarding financial aid, merit scholarships, and enrollment inquiries; Worked on a social media project which entailed analyzing student-run and organization-run social media accounts and meeting with the social media project leads to generate possible social media campaigns, posts, and creative changes.
